RESOLUTION 13740, June 25, 2001

INTRODUCED BY Victor E. Callahan, County Legislator

Body
WHEREAS, on June 29, 2001, Dr. Cliff Mohn will retire as Deputy Superintendent of Independence Public Schools after thirty-two years of dedicated service; and,

WHEREAS, he served the Independence Public Schools in several challenging positions throughout his career, including Director of Secondary Education (1985-89), Assistant Superintendent for Educational Programs (1989-92), Associate Superintendent for Education Programs (1992-99), and Deputy Superintendent (1999-01); and,

WHEREAS, he was associate principal of William Chrisman High School from 1984-85, assistant principal from 1978-84, and taught math and coached football, basketball and track from1969-78; and,

WHEREAS, he attended Central Methodist College in Fayette, Missouri, and received his B.A. in Mathematics in 1952, and Central Missouri State University where he received his Masters of Science in Educational Administration in 1976; and,

WHEREAS, he later attended the University of Missouri-Kansas City and received a Educational Specialist Certificate in Educational Administration in 1980 and a Ph. D. in Educational Administration in 1991; and,

WHEREAS, Dr. Mohn is actively involved in the Independence community, serving as director of the Independence Chamber of Commerce, commissioner for the Independence Housing Authority, director of the Teachers Credit Union, and a member of the Rotary Club; and,

WHEREAS, he is a member of Phi Delta Kappa, and actively involved with the Association of Supervision and Curriculum Development and the American Association of School Administrators; and,
