Body
WHEREAS, the County has solicited written proposals for group health insurance for County employees for the 1997 contract year; and,

WHEREAS, Federal Regulations pertaining to Chapter 1 - Public Health Service - Subpart H - Employees Health Benefit Plan, require that the County offer a Federally Qualified Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) Plan of each type described respectively in Regulations, 110.805 (a) (1) (Staff) and 110.805 (a) (2) (Independent Practice Association (IPA)); and,

WHEREAS, respondents were as follows: Humana Health Care, Kaiser - Permanente, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City, Mutual of Omaha, New York Life Care, Principal Financial, Prudential HealthCare, and United Health Care; and,

WHEREAS, the ad hoc Risk and Insurance Committee and Administration recommend :

therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the health plan proposal of Humana Health Care Plans, consisting of a Staff/IPA, and that of Kaiser - Permanente, consisting of both Staff/IPA and PPO models, be, and hereby are approved; and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Executive be, and hereby is, authorized to execute any necessary documents to implement the group health insurance plans selected herein...Attorney
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
