Body
WHEREAS, Section 1040.1 of the Jackson County Code, 1984, eliminates the requirement for competitive bidding when items to be purchased can be obtained from only one source; and,
WHEREAS, Section 1063.00 of the Code requires notification of and approval by the Legislature on such sole source purchases exceeding $5,000.00; and,
WHEREAS, the Director of Facilities Management has recommended that a parking gate be installed at the 13th and Locust Street County parking lot, and that this gate be compatible with the existing parking gate at the 13th Terrace and Locust lot; and,
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director recommends a contract with Fisher Parking and Security of Excelsior Springs, MO, for the furnishing and installation of the gate; and,
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director further recommends that it not take competitive bids with regard to said contract for the reason that Fisher Parking and Security of Excelsior Springs, MO, is the only known supplier in the Kansas City metropolitan area of parking gates, manufactured by Federal ADP, the manufacturer of the County's existing parking gate; therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri that the Purchasing Director be, and hereby is, authorized to execute for the County a contract with Fisher Parking and Security of Excelsior Springs, MO, for the furnishing and installation of a Federal APD parking gate, in an amount not to exceed $16,600.00; and,
