Body
WHEREAS, by Resolution 17412, dated November 8, 2010, the Legislature did authorize a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the U.S. Department of Justice for a comprehensive assessment of the County's gang problem, at a cost to the County in the amount of $35,000.00; and,

WHEREAS, this project is a collaborative effort between COMBAT and other primary community organizations, in which COMBAT funds are being used to fund the qualitative and quantitative data collection aspect of the assessment; and,

WHEREAS, the Jackson County Drug Commission and the COMBAT administration recommend an extension of the MOU through March 31, 2012, to allow more time to complete the assessment and related reports; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute an Addendum to the Memorandum of Understanding with the U.S. Department of Justice, United States Attorney=s Office for the Western District of Missouri, at no additional cost to the County, in a form to be approved by the County Counselor; and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the agreement and addendum thereto.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
