AN ORDINANCE appropriating $75,000.00 from the unappropriated surplus of the 1995 Anti-Drug Sales Tax Fund, and authorizing the Jackson County Prosecuting Attorney to execute an Agreement with the Kansas City Board of Police Commissioners, relating to the County's providing the City's local match to a grant from the Missouri Department of Public Safety to fund the City's Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE) program at a cost not to exceed $75,000.00.

Body
WHEREAS, the Kansas City, Missouri Board of Police Commissioners, has been advised that it has been awarded a Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE) grant from the Missouri Department of Public Safety and has requested that the County now provide the local match in the total amount of $75,000.00; and,
WHEREAS, the attached Agreement provides a suitable mechanism by which funds for the grant match can be turned over to the Kansas City Board of Police Commissioners; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following appropriation be made from the unappropriated surplus of the 1995 Anti-Drug Sales Tax Fund:
DEPARTMENT/DIVISION CHARACTER/DESCRIPTION FROM TO
Unappropriated Surplus $75,000
Prosecuting Attorney D.A.R.E. Program Grant Match $75,000
and,
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the Jackson County Prosecuting Attorney be, and is hereby authorized to execute an Agreement in a form substantially similar to that attached, with the Kansas City Board of Police Commissioners; and,
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the Manager of the Division of Finance be and is hereby authorized to make all payments including final payment of the Agreement.
