Body
WHEREAS, Denise Fuston was awarded the 2000 Professional CareGiver Award from the Missouri Alliance for HomeCare, on May 1, 2000, and,

WHEREAS, Ms. Fuston was one of only four nursing professionals who received the honor, and,

WHEREAS, she received this award in part because of her work with Thomas, an 8-year-old boy with spinal muscular atrophy, and,

WHEREAS, Ms. Fuston has received compliments from Thomas' elementary school, citing her communication skills, creativity and her ability to treat him like a little boy, rather than focusing on his difficulties, and,

WHEREAS, she gave Thomas the gift of self-confidence and independence, and,

WHEREAS, she is the mother of a 13-year-old son, G.J., who himself has attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, and,

WHEREAS, Denise is a person who goes above and beyond her expected duties, now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature congratulates Denise Fuston on being the recipient of the 2000 Professional CareGiver Award.

Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
