Body
WHEREAS, Section 1040.1 of the Jackson County Code, 1984, eliminates the requirement for competitive bidding when items to be purchased can be obtained from only one source; and,
WHEREAS, Section 1063.00 of the Code requires notification of and approval by the Legislature on such sole source purchases exceeding $5,000.00; and,
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director recommends the award of a twelve (12) month term and supply contract, for the furnishing of aglime for use on ball fields by the Parks and Recreation Department to APAC Kansas, Inc., of Overland Park, KS; and,
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director further recommends that he not take competitive bids with regard to said contract for the reason that is the only known supplier of the type of aglime needed for use on the County's ball fields; therefore,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that award be made as recommended by the Purchasing Director, and that the Purchasing Director be, and is hereby, authorized to execute for the County a contract with APAC Kansas, Inc., of Overland Park, KS; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract, to the extent that sufficient appropriations to the using spending agency are contained in the current Jackson County budget.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
