Body
WHEREAS, after successfully defending his title as Missouri's State Class 4A wrestling champion, Lee's Summit High School senior Chad Hertzog finished fourth at the 1998 National High School Wrestling Championships in Pittsburgh, PA; and,
WHEREAS, Chad received All-American honors at Nationals for placing in the top eight; and,
WHEREAS, Chad winds up his Tiger career with a long list of accomplishments and several school records; and,
WHEREAS, Chad not only remained undefeated this season, compiling a 39-0 record, but ends his four-year wrestling career with an overall record of 122-22; and,
WHEREAS, Chad holds the school's single season pin record of 28, the school career pin record of 87, and finished second all-time in number of wins; and,
WHEREAS, Chad was also voted "Outstanding Wrestler of the Year" at the state tournament; and,
WHEREAS, Chad not only excels in wrestling but has made successful strides in football as a three-year varsity starter, two-year All Metro, and one-year All State; and,
WHEREAS, Chad was guided through his four-year career as a wrestler by Head Coach Ethan Hauck and Assistant Coaches Don Graham (son of County Legislator John Graham), John Repp, and Jeff Scott; and,
WHEREAS, Chad's grandfather is the former County Legislator, Dr. Robert Hertzog; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislator of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature congratulates Chad Hertzog on placing fourth in the heavyweight class at the 1998 National High School Wrestling Championships in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and wishes him con...
