Body
WHEREAS, the Circuit Court of Jackson County has settled a lawsuit which was filed by the Court against Datamation, Inc.; and,
WHEREAS, this lawsuit was filed by the Court to recover proceeds paid to Datamation for computer programming services which were never provided under the terms of the contract; and,
WHEREAS, the Court has settled the case for $25,000.00; and,
WHEREAS, the settlement monies are to be appropriated by the County to the Court in settlement of this lawsuit; and,
WHEREAS, in order to make payment to the Court, an appropriation from the unappropriated surplus of the 2000 General Fund is necessary; and,
WHEREAS, the County Executive recommends this appropriation; therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following appropriation be made from the 2000 General Fund to reimburse the Jackson County Circuit Court for settlement of a lawsuit in the case of the Jackson County Circuit Court v. Datamation, Inc., Case No. CV97-31305:
