Body
WHEREAS, it is necessary for the safety of employees and citizens that various County departments have access to and the use of rock salt and other ice melt products to be used in parking lots, sidewalks and other areas of egress; and,
WHEREAS, the Director of Finance and Purchasing has solicited formal written bids on Invitation to Bid No. 24-087 for the furnishing of calcium chloride pellets and rock salt; and,
WHEREAS, a total of one hundred nineteen notifications were distributed and viewed, and three responses were received and evaluated from the following:

Humana Chemicals, Inc.

Van Diest Supply Company
Olathe, KS
WHEREAS, pursuant to section 1054.6 of the Jackson County Code, the Director of Finance and Purchasing recommends a split award of twenty-four-month term and supply contracts, with two twelve-month options to extend, to Nu-Life Labs, Inc. of Kansas City, Missouri and Humana Chemicals, Inc. of Potomac, Maryland, under the terms and conditions of Invitation to Bid No. 24-087; and,
WHEREAS, a split award to the two lowest and best bidders is recommended to give the various County departments flexibility and convenience to obtain needed items and services in various locations; and,
