Body
WHEREAS, in the effort to stabilize the staffing levels in the Jackson County Prosecutor's Office (JCPO) in preparation for the transition of the new Prosecutor, the current Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker would like to provide each employee with a one-time two percent retention stipend; and,
WHEREAS, the funding of the stipend would be drawn from the Prosecuting Attorney's Delinquent Sales Tax Fund, which is designated for operational needs, staffing, and salary supplements for JCPO employees; and,
WHEREAS, the goal of the stipend is to minimize the number of current JCPO employees from leaving for other job opportunities during this transition, as this could pose a threat to public safety; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following appropriation from the undesignated fund balance of the 2024 Delinquent Sales Tax Fund be and hereby is made:

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing
