Body
WHEREAS, on November 2, 2010, Kevin McManus was elected to the Missouri House of Representatives, representing the 46th District in areas of south Kansas City and Grandview, MO; and,

WHEREAS, Kevin's platform of fighting for jobs, strong public schools, ethics reform, and the environment helped him win with 60 percent of the popular vote in the general election; and,

WHEREAS, Kevin graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Notre Dame with a bachelor's degree in government; and,

WHEREAS, in 2003, Kevin attended law school at St. Louis University where he served as an editor of the Law Journal; and,

WHEREAS, Kevin is passionate about the living out the values of determination, hard work, faith, family and service to the community; and,
WHEREAS, Kevin is supported in his public service endeavors by his wife Alex; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature congratulates Kevin McManus on his election to the Missouri House of Representatives for the 43rd District, and wishes him much success in the future.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
