Body
WHEREAS, the Missouri Valley AAU's Night Hoops REBOUND program provides year- round community outreach programs, i.e., drug and alcohol prevention, GED preparation and job training for youth and young adults ages 17-25; and,
WHEREAS, the Missouri Valley AAU has been awarded a grant for these programs in the amount of $100,000.00, by the Kansas City, Missouri Parks and Recreation Department; and,
WHEREAS, these funds are subject to a local match in the amount of $70,070.00; and,
WHEREAS, the Missouri Valley AAU has requested that the County provide $70,070.00 in matching funds to match the grant for these programs; and,
WHEREAS, the contract period for this proposal is December 1, 2005, through December 31, 2006; and,
WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney has reviewed this proposal and recommends the expenditure of these funds; therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive is hereby authorized to enter into the attached Cooperative Agreement with the Missouri Valley AAU for its Night Hoops REBOUND programs; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Director of the Department of Finance be and hereby is authorized to make all payments including final payment on the Agreement.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
