Body
WHEREAS, the Missouri Department of Transportation has proposed to close the Holmes Road Bridge during the construction of a new bridge across the Blue River; and,
WHEREAS, the Legislature believes that closing the Holmes Road Bridge would cause an extreme hardship on the citizens and businesses in the south western part of Jackson County; and,
WHEREAS, closing the bridge would not be in the best interest of the citizenry; and,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature urges the Missouri Department of Transportation to keep open the Holmes Road Bridge during the construction of the new bridge across the Blue River.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
