Body
WHEREAS, the Tribute and Thank You celebration is dedicated to honoring all who served in the United States Armed Forces during World War II and the Korean War; and,
WHEREAS, as protectors of life and liberty for all Americans, these veterans deserve respect and recognition for their services; and,
WHEREAS, the Raytown Council on Aging, Raytown Rotary Club, Raytown Arts Council and the Raytown Retired Teachers helped to stage this first Tribute and Thank You celebration; and,
WHEREAS, the Tribute and Thank You celebration will be held on November 9, 2008, to honor all the servicemen who courageously served during World War II and the Korean War; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature hereby recognizes the Tribute and Thank You celebration and all World War II and Korean War veterans, and expresses gratitude and pride in these noble Americans.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
