RESOLUTION #11382, August 12, 1996

INTRODUCED BY James D. Tindall, County Legislator

Body
WHEREAS, Rev. Dr. Stanley L. Counts is a man of spiritual strength and dedication; and,

WHEREAS, he received his undergraduate education at the University of Nebraska in Omaha, NB, Grace University, Young Life Institute in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and National College in Kansas City, Missouri, and furthered his education at the St. Paul School of Theology, Central Baptist Seminary, and Midwestern Seminary; and,

WHEREAS, Rev. Counts began serving the spiritual needs of people in 1954 by pastoring at Faith Bible Church and has pastored 13 other congregations since that time; and,

WHEREAS, in February of 1996 Rev. Counts founded the Faith Community Church; and,

WHEREAS, Rev. Counts has realized many accomplishments through the many churches he has pastored including renovations, mortgages burned, financial systems established, revival of community fellowship, spiritual growth, and intense youth Christian education training; and,

WHEREAS, Rev. Counts has also served on the Board of Directors of Pan Educational Institute, the Bicentennial Ethnic Heritage Committee, Kansas City, Missouri PTA Council, Southeast Community School Council, and various other organizations; and,

WHEREAS, Rev. Counts married Dorothy Jean Lockett Counts on August 23, 1959, and they have two children, Lee Kathryn Counts and Stanley Counts, Jr.; and,

WHEREAS, Rev. Counts and his wife have been additionally blessed with three grandchildren, Jene Patrice Counts, Steffan LeVon Greer Counts, and Michelle Lene Counts; and,

WHEREAS, a celebration in honor of Rev. Counts' 40 years of service will be held at Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church on Saturday, August 10, 1996; now therefore,
