Body
WHEREAS, Genesis School's "Genesis Communications" is an eight week summer leadership program for youth at high risk for drug abuse, with a focus on reading, writing, and critical thinking, under which students plan, market, and distribute the services they create; and,
WHEREAS, Genesis School has requested $75,130.00 to secure the continuation of its program; and,
WHEREAS, these funds will be used as the local match to private grants in the amount of $208,665.00 for its Genesis Communications program; and,
WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney has reviewed this proposal and recommends the expenditure of these funds; therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive is hereby authorized to execute the attached agreement, with Genesis School for the Genesis Communications program; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the Agreement.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
