A RESOLUTION approving a proposal from Terracon to restore a wetland in the vicinity of the confluence of the Little Blue and Missouri Rivers.

INTRODUCED BY Fred Arbanas, County Legislator
Body
WHEREAS, Terracon, on behalf of Meridian Communities, L.L.C. and Commercial Federal Bank of Lee's Summit, has submitted a proposal to Jackson County to restore a wetland in the vicinity of the confluence of the Little Blue and Missouri Rivers; and,
WHEREAS, a portion of the lands to be restored, of approximately 16 acres, in area is owned by Jackson County; and,
WHEREAS, this project is subject to approval by the United States Army Corps of Engineers, which will be responsible for overseeing this project once approved; and,
WHEREAS, the restoration of the subject land to wetlands is in the best interests of the health, welfare, and safety of the citizens of the County; therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the proposal by Terracon be approved and the Legislature authorizes the County Executive to sign any documents necessary to effect this action...Attorney
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
