Body
WHEREAS, the voters of the County renewed their sales tax for seven years to provide funding for the fight against illegal drugs in our community; and,

WHEREAS, the County did, by Resolution 13226, dated July 24, 2000, enter into an Agreement with the Salvation Army, to provide housing for Drug Court referrals who are homeless, for the Prosecuting Attorney's Deferred Prosecution and Drug Court Programs; and,

WHEREAS, subsequent Resolutions have extended this Agreement through March 31, 2006, at a total cost to the County not to exceed $151,000.00; and,

WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney now recommends an additional extension to the Agreement with the Salvation Army, through and including March 31, 2007, at an increased cost to the County not to exceed $25,000.00; and,

WHEREAS, the proposed increase and extension to this Agreement are necessary to provide housing Drug Court referrals at a cost of $15.00 per day, and this increase will not exceed $25,000.00; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be, and hereby is, authorized to execute the attached Sixth Addendum to the Agreement with the Salvation Army; and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing be, and hereby is, authorized to make all payments, including final payments on the Agreement and the First, Second, Third, Fourth, Fifth, and Sixth Addenda thereto.
