Body


WHEREAS, § 141.750.2, RSMo 2000, authorizes the Trustees of the Land Trust of Jackson County to convey title in fee simple, for consideration less than two-thirds of the appraised value of a property, only after the consent of at least two of the Trustees' appointing authorities; and,

WHEREAS, the Trustees have recommended that two properties in the urban core be conveyed pursuant to § 141.750.2, RSMo, one property to Barbara Gardner, and the other property to Thomas Dukes, Daniel Henry and Billy Davis to support the implementation of strategies to curb blight within the urban core, (Exhibits A-1 and A-2 attached hereto); and,

WHEREAS, the City of Kansas City, Missouri has consented, by its Resolution No. 041832, dated December 16, 2004, to these conveyances (Exhibit B attached hereto); and,

WHEREAS, the County has undertaken and supports various projects to upgrade and improve the neighborhoods and commercial districts in the urban core, and the conveyance of these parcels of land is in the best interest of the citizens of Jackson County and is likely to combat the occurrence of blight in the urban core; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature consents to the transfer without consideration of the following two (2) properties listed below, as follows:
