Body
WHEREAS, the County desires assistance from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers under Section 216 of the Flood Control Act of 1970 concerning the existing flood control projects in the Little Blue River Basin; and,
WHEREAS, according to Section 319 of the Water Resources Development Act of 1990 (Public Law 101-640) the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is authorized to collect from non-Federal entities fees for the purpose of recovering fifty percent of the cost of the program, resulting in an actual cost to the County of $10,000.00; and,
WHEREAS, such an agreement is in the best interests of the health, welfare, and safety of the citizens of the County; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute a cost sharing Agreement with the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers, a copy of which is attached hereto; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Manager of the Division of Finance be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the Agreement.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
