Body
WHEREAS, Dixie M. Flynn began her service on the County Legislature on January 1, 1995, and has represented the 5th District since that time; and,
WHEREAS, Mrs. Flynn served as a committee member of the Land Use Committee for the years 1997 and 1998, Risk Insurance Committee for the years 1997 and 1998, Rules Committee for the years 1996, 1997, and 1998, Health and Justice Committee for the years 1995 and 1996, and Public Works Committee for 1995; and,
WHEREAS, she also served as Chair of the Health and Justice Committee for the years 1997 and 1998, and Chair of the Rules Committee for 1995; and,
WHEREAS, Mrs. Flynn was instrumental in the prevention of passage of legislation of pension funds for the County Legislature; and,
WHEREAS, other accomplishments include being instrumental in stopping the incorporation of River Bend, the planning process of the Little Blue Valley Sewer District as to wastewater treatment and storm water management for Eastern Jackson County, and developing a countywide emergency management plan; and,
WHEREAS, Mrs. Flynn has distinguished herself through her years of representing the citizens of the 5th District; therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature recognizes and commends Dixie M. Flynn for her four years of outstanding service on the Jackson County Legislature.
