Body
WHEREAS, by Resolution 11294, dated May 13, 1996, the Legislature did authorize the County to provide funding to the Sheriff's Department and to all municipalities in Jackson County whose police departments sponsor Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE) or similar anti-drug programs; and,

WHEREAS, there are additional monies appropriated for DARE in 1996 that have remained unencumbered pending resolution of an issue question regarding allocation of funds; and,

WHEREAS, all outstanding issues have been resolved and it is now the recommendation of the COMBAT Commission that the Sheriff's Department and same municipalities receive an allocation under the same funding formula as used under Resolution 11294; and,

WHEREAS, Resolution 11450, dated October 7, 1996, now pending before the Legislature, would, if adopted, authorize the County Executive to execute contracts with the municipalities for this supplemental DARE funding; and,

WHEREAS, a transfer within the 1996 Anti-Drug Sales Tax Fund is necessary to cover the supplemental funding for the Sheriff's Department D.A.R.E. program; and,

WHEREAS, the County Executive recommends such transfer; therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following transfer within the 1996 1996 Anti- Drug Sales Tax Fund be and hereby is made:
