IN THE COUNTY LEGISLATURE OF JACKSON COUNTY, MISSOURI
Title
A RESOLUTION authorizing the County Executive to execute contracts with certain municipalities within Jackson County for the purpose of funding their 2002-2003 Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE) or similar anti-drug programs, at a total cost to the County not to exceed $1,201,471.38.

Body
WHEREAS, representatives from all municipalities in Jackson County whose police departments sponsor Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE) or similar anti-drug programs have made a joint request to the COMBAT Commission and County Legislature, regarding the formula for Jackson County's funding of these programs for the 2002-2003 term; and,
WHEREAS, the consensus reached among the municipalities and COMBAT staff was that these programs be funded in the following amounts:
MUNICIPALITY ALLOCATION
City of Blue Springs $161,609.90
City of Grain Valley 11,410.30
City of Grandview 79,184.12
City of Independence 353,272.56
City of Kansas City 333,359.34
City of Lee's Summit 195,738.78
City of Oak Grove 21,595.38
City of Raytown 45,301.00
TOTAL $1,201,471.38
and,
WHEREAS, at its meeting of September 26, 2002, the COMBAT Commission endorsed the recommendations of the municipalities and agencies involved; and,
WHEREAS, the attached form contract provides a suitable mechanism by which the requested funds can be transferred to the participating municipalities; therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute contracts with the cities of City of Blue Springs, City of Grain Valley, City of Grandview, City of Independence, City of Kansas City, City of Lee's Summit, City of Oak Grove, and City of Raytown, in the aggregat...
