WHEREAS, the Director of Finance and Purchasing has solicited formal written bids on Invitation to Bid No. 26-034 for the furnishing of batteries for boats, turf equipment, automobiles, and heavy equipment for use by various County Departments; and,
WHEREAS, a total of 270 notifications were distributed, and four (4) responses were received and evaluated from the following:

Kansas City, MO

San Francisco, CA
and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to section 1054.6 of the Jackson County Code, the Director of Finance and Purchasing recommends award of a twelve month term and supply contract, with two (2) twelve-month options to extend, to Continental Battery Company of Irving, TX and Factory Motor Parts of Lee's Summit, MO, for the reason that they have submitted the lowest and best bids; and,
WHEREAS, this award is made on an as needed basis and does not obligate Jackson County to pay any specific amount, with the availability of funds for specific purchases subject to annual appropriation, with an annual estimated spending of $28,000.00; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that award be made as recommended by the Director of Finance and Purchasing, and that the Director be and hereby is authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary to th...
