Body
WHEREAS, Donald L. Mason attended East Central Oklahoma State University and Missouri Western Stat College and received his J.D. degree in 1952 from the University of Missouri-Kansas City Law Scho l; and,

WHEREAS, prior to his law career, Judge Mason served in active duty in the U.S. Army Air Corps fro 1943-1946 during World War II, and enlisted in the U.S. Army Reserves in August of 1956, retiring as a colonel after 31 years of service; and,

WHEREAS, after being admitted to the bar in 1952, Judge Mason became associated with the law firms of Mason, Gant, Gepford, Moran and the firm of Sanders & Simpson; and,

WHEREAS, he also served as an assistant prosecuting attorney of Jackson County from 1957-1962 and irst assistant prosecuting attorney from 1963-1964; and,

WHEREAS, Judge Mason was appointed to the bench on December 16, 1976 by Governor Christopher Bond nd served as presiding judge of the 16th Judicial Circuit for a two-year term in 1981-1982; and,

WHEREAS, Judge Mason has received many awards and honors over the course of his career including V ce President of the Student Body of Missouri Western College in 1947 (formerly known as St. Joseph Junior College), the Missouri Bar President's Award in September 1975, the Judge Advocate General ward in January 1979, Honorary Member of Missouri Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers in April 1984, the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association's Achievement Award in December 1993, and an aw rd from CASA Project National Council of Jewish W...
