WHEREAS, it was with great sorrow to family and friends to learn of the death of Robert P. Pendergast, Sr.; and,
WHEREAS, a native of Kansas City, Missouri, Mr. Pendergast graduated from Rockhurst High School in 1931, and received his bachelor's degree from the University of Notre Dame in 1935; and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Pendergast was treasurer of Eureka Petroleum Company, a family-owned business, until it closed; and,
WHEREAS, he then worked for Rockhurst College as assistant comptroller and purchasing agent until his retirement; and,
WHEREAS, he was a former president of the Notre Dame Club of Kansas City and a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, Native Sons of Kansas City, and the Civil War Roundtable of Kansas City; and,
WHEREAS, Mr. Pendergast is survived by his loving wife, Margaret, son, Michael S. Pendergast, Director of Collection for Jackson County, and daughter-in-law Kathy, his other son, Robert Pendergast, Jr., three grandchildren, and one nephew; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature hereby extends its deepest sympathy to Michael Pendergast and other family members and friends upon the death of Robert P. Pendergast, Sr...Attorney
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
