INTRODUCED BY Bob Spence, County Legislator

Body
WHEREAS, by Resolution 14939, dated March 8, 2004, the Legislature did authorize an independent audit of the County's Community-backed Anti-Drug Tax (COMBAT); and,

WHEREAS, included within that Resolution was a scope of the proposed audit; and,

WHEREAS, the Resolution specified that the financial statements for the years in question were to be prepared in accordance with "generally accepted accounting principles;" and,

WHEREAS, since the adoption of Resolution 14939, it has been determined that the financial statements to be audited should be prepared in accordance with "the budgetary basis of accounting;" now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that Resolution 14939, dated March 8, 2004, is hereby supplemented by modifying the requirement for the preparation of financial statements, such that the financial statements shall be prepared in accordance with "the budgetary basis of accounting."

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
