Body
WHEREAS, Children's Mercy Hospital's TIES program consists of a multidisciplinary team created to identify pregnant and postpartum women affected by substance abuse and/or HIV and provides case management services to promote recovery, stabilization, and the well being of their children in a safe and drug free environment; and,
WHEREAS, the TIES program is funded by a grant awarded by the United States Department of Health and Human Services, in the amount of $450,000.00; and,
WHEREAS, these funds are subject to a local match; and,
WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney has reviewed this proposal and recommends the expenditure of $67,500.00 in County Anti-drug Sales Tax funds to serve as a portion of the required local match; therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive is hereby authorized to execute a Cooperative Agreement with Children's Mercy Hospital, to provide a local grant match for the TIES program in the amount of $67,500.00, in a form to be approved by the County Counselor; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Director of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the Agreement.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
