Body
WHEREAS, the Alternative Break Program of James Madison University, Harrisonburg, VA, offers opportunities to its students for travel and volunteering during academic breaks their time and energy to community organizations on a national and international level; and,
WHEREAS, each service trip consists of eleven team members who will experience an alcohol and drug free alternative to the more traditional spring breaks while providing a concrete and meaningful way to serve those in need; and,
WHEREAS, the 2006 James Madison University Community Service volunteers donating their time and energy to the staff, women and children of Sheffield Place are Tyrone White and Beth Vahabzadeh - Trip Leaders, Greg Meyer - Learning Partner, and Abby Weaver, Stephanie Murphy, Sarah Petri, Jennie Reed, Kimberly Murdock, Katherine Ross, and Jaime Campbell; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature acknowledges the James Madison University Alternative Break Program and commends the 2006 James Madison University Community Service Volunteers for their service to Sheffield Place and the Jackson County community.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
