Body
WHEREAS, by Resolution 15976, dated July 24, 2006, the Legislature did award a term and supply contract to Securus Technologies, formerly known as Evercom System, of Dallas, TX, for the furnishing of inmate pay telephone system and services under the terms and conditions of Request for Proposals No. 10-06; and,

WHEREAS, the Director of Finance and Purchasing requests the authorization to extend the contract with Securus Technologies for the furnishing of inmate pay phone services for an additional six-month period to allow adequate time to property rebid this contract and to acquire and install new equipment, if necessary; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the contract be extended as recommended by the Director of Finance and Purchasing, and that the Director be, and is hereby, authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary to the accomplishment of the extension; and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing is authorized to make all payments, including final payments on the contract, to the extent that sufficient appropriations to the using spending agency are contained in the then current Jackson County budget.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
