Body
WHEREAS, Ryan Dusheke, son of Laura and Gary Dusheke, is a senior at Raytown South High School and has earned the designation of semi-finalist in the National Merit Scholarship program which will enable him to compete for National Merit Scholarship awards; and,
WHEREAS, the National Merit Scholarship Corporation, founded in 1955, conducts an annual National Merit Scholarship competition by administering the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test, which produces a nationwide pool of semi-finalists representing less than one percent of U.S. high school seniors and includes the highest scoring entrants in each state; and,
WHEREAS, Ryan earned a perfect 36 ACT score, perfect 800 SAT math score, nearly perfect 780 SAT verbal score, and carries a 4.0 grade point average; and,
WHEREAS, in addition to his exceptional academic status, Ryan is senior class president, former student council president, past attendee at Missouri Scholars Academy, basketball letterman, and orchestra member; and,
WHEREAS, Ryan plans to attend college with a major in engineering; therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature congratulates Ryan Dusheke as a National Merit Scholarship semi-finalist and extends sincere best wishes for continued success in his endeavors now and in the future.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
