AN ORDINANCE appropriating $18,267.00 from the unappropriated surplus of the 1997 General Fund to cover the cost of a position classification and compensation study for the County's employees.

Body
WHEREAS, the Legislature has determined that it is appropriate to evaluate whether the salary ranges for all County employees are adequate; and,
WHEREAS, the Personnel Director has determined that an evaluation of these ranges and a position classification and compensation study to assist the Legislature in making its determination can be performed for $18,267.00; and,
WHEREAS, in order to fund the evaluation and study, an appropriation from the unappropriated surplus of the 1997 General Fund is necessary; and,
WHEREAS, the County Executive has recommended this appropriation as an amendment to her 1997 proposed budget; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following appropriation be and hereby is made from the unappropriated surplus of the 1997 General Fund:
