Body
WHEREAS, the County recognizes its statutory obligations to the poor under Section 205.580, et. seq. RSMo, and desires to provide service programs for the elderly; and,
WHEREAS, the Mid-America Regional Council (MARC) is the duly designated area agency on aging for the Missouri Counties of Clay, Cass, Platte, Ray and Jackson; and,
WHEREAS, the parties desire to enter into a Cooperative Agreement, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, whereby the County will provide $23,501.00 to MARC to be used to provide services under the Older Americans Act and to provide a staff for planning and managing service programs for the elderly in Jackson County; therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Agreement is hereby approved and that the County Executive is authorized to execute the Agreement on behalf of the County; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the Agreement.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
