AN ORDINANCE transferring $5,029.00 within the 2005 General Fund and $4,643.00 within the 2005 Anti-Drug Sales Tax Fund and appropriating $48,360.00 from the unappropriated surplus of the 2005 Grant Fund in acceptance of a grant received from the Missouri Department of Public Safety.

Body
WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney's Office has been awarded a Victims of Crime Act ("VOCA") grant from the Missouri Department of Public Safety for its Victim Services Program for the period October 1, 2005 through September 30, 2006; and,
WHEREAS, this grant recognizes the established nexus between crimes of violence and drug-related crimes; and,
WHEREAS, the VOCA grant will cover the salary, benefits, and training costs for a victim services program advocate; and,
WHEREAS, a match of $9,672.00 is required for this grant; and,
WHEREAS, a transfer and appropriation are necessary in order to place the grant and matching funds in the proper spending accounts; and,
WHEREAS, the County Executive recommends said transfer and appropriation; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following transfer and appropriation be and are hereby made:
