Body
WHEREAS, Hope House, New House, and Rose Brooks domestic violence shelters ("Shelters") are not-for-profit organizations providing assistance to victims of domestic violence; and,

WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the public health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of Jackson County to provide assistance to the victims of domestic violence through funding of these Shelters; and,

WHEREAS, pursuant to section 8700., Jackson County Code, 1984, the Board of Domestic Violence Shelters ("Board") was established to administer the distribution of fees collected pursuant to state statutes and the Code; and,

WHEREAS, by Resolution 17480, dated January 31, 2011, the Legislature did authorize the execution of cooperative agreements with the Shelters in an aggregate amount of $100,000.00, representing the funding allocation for the first half of 2011; and,

WHEREAS, the Board met on June 13, 2011, and recommended the allocation of the remaining 2011 revenues based on further revenue projections, for equal distribution to the three eligible shelters; and,

WHEREAS, the Board recommends that the County Executive be authorized to execute amendments to the cooperative agreements with the domestic violence shelters in the amount of $26,350.00 each, at an aggregate cost to the County not to exceed $79,050.00; now therefore,
