Body
WHEREAS, the City of Independence has advised the County of unsafe curb and sidewalk conditions adjacent to county facilities in the Independence Square area; and,

WHEREAS, due to the need to complete necessary repairs prior to the Santa-Cali-Gon Days festival scheduled for September 2000, there is not sufficient time to advertise, solicit, and receive formal sealed bids for the needed work; and,

WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director has requested four firms to submit written proposals for the work and has received the following responses:

WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director recommends the issuance of a purchase order to Harworth Construction Co. of Kansas City (Clay Co.), MO, for the completion of this work; and,

WHEREAS, pursuant to ยง1040.3, Jackson County Code, 1984, the County Executive has declared that an emergency exists and authorized the issuance of this purchase order; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Legislature concurs in the issuance of a purchase order to Harworth Construction Co. of Kansas City, MO, in the actual amount of $15,750.00.
