Body
WHEREAS, on June 4, 1991, the voters of Jackson County authorized the County Legislature to impose a $3.00 user fee on all instruments recorded with the County's Department of Records, the proceeds of which are to be used to provide funds for assistance and services to homeless persons; and,

WHEREAS, the County actually imposed said fee by Ordinance 1986, dated June 10, 1991; and,

WHEREAS, by enacting sections 9054. through 9059., Jackson County Code, 1984, the Legislature created the Housing Resources Commission is the designated agency of the County for determining the allocation and distribution of the funds allocated for providing assistance and services to homeless persons; and,

WHEREAS, there was a Housing Resources Commission Board meeting held November 24, 2025, where it was determined an additional allocation of $150,000.00 be granted to organizations to cover expenses and aid homeless persons; and,


WHEREAS, the Commission desires to fund organizations for the provision of services and has recommended the expenditure of funds to the organizations in the amounts indicated; and,

WHEREAS, the execution of cooperative agreements with the agencies in the amount indicated is in the best interests of the health, welfare, and safety of the citizens of Jackson County; now therefore,
