Body
WHEREAS, Chris Conatser, a senior at Lee's Summit North High School, is to be commended for receiving a perfect score of 36 on his ACT test taken in the fall of 1999; and,
WHEREAS, Chris is just one of 32 students out of a total of 487,000 in the nation receiving a perfect score; and,
WHEREAS, Chris plans to pursue a degree in horticulture or botany from either Cornell University in Ithaca, NY, or from Truman State University at Kirksville, MO; and,
WHEREAS, Chris is a member of the National Honor Society with a grade point average of 4.15; and,
WHEREAS, he also belongs to the Math Club and DECA, a student marketing club; and,
WHEREAS, Chris works at Longview Gardens Nursery, maintains the school greenhouse, designed and planted the flower beds in front of the school; and,
WHEREAS, he is active in the Praise United Pentecostal Church Youth Group and does volunteer work listening to elementary school children read; and,
WHEREAS, Chris is the son of Gary and Renee Conatser, and he has one brother, Jeffrey and one sister, Elizabeth; and,
WHEREAS, Chris deserves the highest of praise for his accomplishments and for striving for academic and personal excellence; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature congratulates Chris Conatser upon receiving a perfect score on his ACT.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
