AN ORDINANCE appropriating $377,492.00 from the undesignated fund balance of the 2026 E-911 System Fund and authorizing the County Executive to execute agreements for assignment of 911 funds with certain municipalities within Jackson County and awarding a contract for technology services to Carahsoft Technology Solutions of Reston, VA as a sole source purchase at a cost to the County not to exceed $4,277,492.00.

Body
WHEREAS, the County Executive would like to distribute funds earmarked for the municipalities of Buckner, Lee’s Summit, and Sugar Creek for data transfer, mobile police, and handheld radios, new servers, and additional dispatching consoles to improve Eastern Jackson County emergency response; and,
WHEREAS, additionally, funds will be used to purchase services from Carahsoft Technology Solutions of Reston, Virginia to support the Jackson County Sheriff, Raytown PD, Blue Springs PD, Independence PD, Grandview PD, and Grain Valley PD interdepartmental collaboration; and,
WHEREAS, the County Executive shall be authorized to execute an agreement with Carahsoft for a period of twelve months; and,
WHEREAS, the County Executive has recommended the authorization to execute agreements with outside municipalities, as set out below:
