Body
WHEREAS, the City of Sugar Creek, Missouri, has requested the use of the remaining balance of $19,955.00 from its County Urban Road System (CURS) account to cover the cost of improvements to the Lewis and Clark Expressway, a road within the City that is a part of the County Urban Road System; and,

WHEREAS, the City of Sugar Creek has proposed that, should the improvements to the Lewis and Clark Expressway not move forward for a reason beyond the City's control, they will use the CURS funds on routine maintenance for one of the following CURS roads: Sterling Avenue, Courtney Atherton Road, Kentucky Avenue, Courtney Road, Kentucky Road, or North River Road; and,

WHEREAS, the Legislature finds that the project proposed by the City will benefit the citizens of Sugar Creek and the citizens of Jackson County; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that, pursuant to Chapter 28, Jackson County Code, 1984, the Director of Finance and Purchasing is authorized to issue a check in the amount of $19,955.00 to the City of Sugar Creek for use on the City's Lewis and Clark Expressway project, or in the alternative, on routine maintenance for one of the CURS roads mentioned above.


Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
