Body
WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works has solicited formal written bids on Bid No. PW 04-2005 for the 2005 Pavement Maintenance Project Phase 3 (Micro-surfacing); and,
WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works solicited bids for the above project and two (2) responses were received:
VENDORS COST
Vance Brothers, Inc. $204,346.85
Kansas City, MO
Musselman & Hall Contractors $270,764.27
Kansas City, KS
and,
WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works recommends that the contract award be made to Vance Brothers, Inc., of Kansas City, MO for the reason that it has submitted the best and lowest bid; and,
WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works has requested authorization to adjust any contract line item quantities to the extent that there will be no further funding obligation by the County in order to fully utilize budgeted funds without the necessity of seeking legislative review of minor change order details; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the award be made as recommended by the Director of Public Works, and that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute any documents necessary to the accomplishment of the award; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Public Works be and hereby is authorized to adjust any contract line item quantities to the extent that there will be no further funding obligation by the County in order to fully utilized budgeted funds; and,
