AN ORDINANCE appropriating $15,000.00 from the unappropriated surplus of the 2005 Grant Fund in acceptance of the DWI Enforcement grant received from the Missouri Department of Transportation - Office of Highway Safety, and authorizing the County Executive to execute an Agreement with the Missouri Department of Transportation - Office of Highway Safety.

Body
WHEREAS, the County has been awarded a grant in the amount of $15,000 by the Missouri Department of Transportation-Office of Highway Safety for its DWI Enforcement program; and,
WHEREAS, Jackson County ranks 1st in the State of Missouri in alcohol related crashes; and,
WHEREAS, this grant will fund reimbursement of overtime used for setting up sobriety checkpoints and other alcohol related enforcement; and,
WHEREAS, an appropriation is necessary to place the grant monies in the proper spending accounts; and,
WHEREAS, the Administration recommends this appropriation as an amendment to the proposed 2005 budget; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following appropriation be and hereby is made:

Effective Date: This ordinance shall be effective immediately upon its signature by the County Executive.
