Body
WHEREAS, by Resolution 19297, dated October 24, 2016, the Legislature did award a contract to Burns & McDonnell of Kansas City, MO, pursuant to Request for Qualifications 44-15, for the furnishing of professional design services relating to the Rock Island Trail project; and,
WHEREAS, during the course of these services, TranSystems, a subconsultant to Burns & McDonnell, incorrectly designed the loading criteria of the trail bridges in the north segment of the project; and,
WHEREAS, the error was corrected and the project is now proceeding; and,
WHEREAS, during construction of the north segment, it has additionally become apparent that unrelated design work is needed, at a cost of approximately $4,000.00; and,
WHEREAS, as a work-out, TranSystems has agreed to perform this additional unrelated design work at no cost to the County; and,
WHEREAS, a no-cost change order to the contract is needed to memorialize the understanding of the parties and resolve all issues relating to the change in the loading criteria of the bridges; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute the attached change order to the contract with Burns & McDonnell of Kansas City, MO.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
