Body
WHEREAS, by Ordinance 3704, dated October 31, 2005, the Legislature did appropriate funds from the unappropriated surplus of the 2005 Anti-Drug Sales Tax Fund in acceptance of 2005 Byrne Justice Assistance (JAG) grant awarded by the United States Department of Justice for law enforcement programs; and,

WHEREAS, the grant period is from October 1, 2004, through September 30, 2008; and,

WHEREAS, the date of expiration of the contract period in the cooperative agreements approved by Ordinance 3704 was inadvertently listed as September 30, 2006; and,

WHEREAS, an addendum is necessary to correct the contract period to coincide with the grant award and allow disbursement of funds through September 30, 2008; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive is authorized to execute addendums to the cooperative agreements with the cities of Blue Springs, Grandview, Independence, Kansas City, and Raytown, extending the contract period through September 30, 2008, at no additional cost to the County, in a form to be approved by the County Counselor.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
