Body
WHEREAS, the County desires to purchase Haydite, an aggregate used in road surfacing and repair, for use by the Road and Bridge Division of the Public Works Department; and,
WHEREAS, section 1040.1, Jackson County Code, eliminates the requirement for competitive bidding when the items to be acquired can be obtained from only one source; and,
WHEREAS, the Director of Finance and Purchasing recommends the award of a one-year term and supply contract for the furnishing of Haydite to Buildex Corporation of Ottawa, KS, as a sole source provider, because Buildex is the only known provider of this commodity in the region; and,
WHEREAS, section 1063.00, Jackson County Code, 1984, requires that for any such purchase in excess of $25,000, the Director of Finance and Purchasing shall submit the purchase to the Legislature for approval; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED that award be made as recommended by the Director of Finance and Purchasing, and that the Director be, and is hereby, authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary to the accomplishment of the award; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing is authorized to make all payments, including final payments on the contract, to the extent that sufficient appropriations to the using spending agency are contained in the then current Jackson County budget.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
