Body
WHEREAS, the Genesis School mentoring program serves urban youth, ages eleven through fifteen, who are paired with mentors each month to participate in anti-drug activities to decrease alcohol and tobacco use and improve school attendance; and,

WHEREAS, the Genesis School mentoring program is funded by the Jacqueline B. Charno Charitable Lead Trust in the amount of $50,000.00; and,

WHEREAS, these funds are subject to a local match in the amount of $31,250.00; and

WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney has reviewed this proposal and recommends the expenditure of these funds; therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED, by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive is hereby authorized to execute a cooperative agreement with the Genesis School Inc., as a local grant match for the Genesis School mentoring program in the amount of $31,250.00, in a form to be approved by the County Counselor; and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Director of the Department of Finance be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the Agreement.

Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
