Body
WHEREAS, Jonathan Brocato, an 8th grade student at St. Paul's Episcopal Day School has received the Missouri Mathematics League's 8th place team in State and 2nd place team in Jackson County awards; and,

WHEREAS, the Missouri Mathematics League holds annual contests for students in grades 4 through 8, high school and algebra 1; and,

WHEREAS, over one million math students from the United States and Canada participate in the annual contest; and,

WHEREAS, these contests encourage a variety of problem-solving skills and methods, to improve students' abilities and understanding of mathematical connections, while having fun; and,

WHEREAS, congratulations go out to Jonathan for receiving these prestigious mathematics awards; and,
WHEREAS, Jonathan not only excels academically, he also performs in school productions and enjoys playing a variety of sports including, lacrosse, baseball and basketball; and,

WHEREAS, he is the son of John and Jeanne Brocato of Kansas City, Missouri. He has one brother, Anthony Brocato, executive chef of Café Des Amis in Parkville, Missouri, and one sister, Tammy Miller, a teacher and Co-owner of Appraisal Express in Kansas City, Missouri; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature hereby congratulates Jonathan Brocato upon receiving the Missouri Mathematics League's 8th place team in State and 2nd place team in Jackson County awards.

Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
