Body
WHEREAS, Minister James T. Madry, Jr., has been spreading the gospel through song since the age of ten; and,

WHEREAS, his style of music has been categorized as urban contemporary gospel, although he appeals to the mature listening audience as well; and,

WHEREAS, Minister Madry is a gifted songwriter who writes songs that deliver positive messages of joy, faith, and love; and,

WHEREAS, in addition to being a licensed Baptist Minister and gifted songwriter, he has been a phenomenal motivational speaker for youth for the past 10 years; and,

WHEREAS, he has performed as the opening act for several nationally recognized gospel artists, including Fred Hammond and Shirley Ceaser; and,

WHEREAS, he is a member of the Edwin Hawkins and James Cleveland Gospel Music Workshop Choirs and has sung background vocals for several other gospel artists including Isaac Fields and the late Dawna Ward; and,

WHEREAS, he is the founder of Madry Ministries, co-founder of Just Us Friends, and a member of the nationally-recorded gospel group Jackson & Spirit; and,

WHEREAS, it is the mission of Madry Ministries to be a leader and example in the new millennium for cutting-edge ministries; and,

WHEREAS, Madry Ministries will celebrate "Genuine Praise Through Ministry in the New Millennium," on Saturday, August 3, 2002, at 6:00pm at the Concord Fortress of Hope Church, 7710 East 102nd Street in Kansas City, Missouri; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature congratulates Minister James T. Madry, Jr., upon celebrating seventeen years in the singing ministry.
