RESOLUTION #16654, June 9, 2008

INTRODUCED BY Scott Burnett, County Legislator

Body
WHEREAS, section 1030.1 of the Jackson County Code, 1984, eliminates the requirement for competitive bidding when items to be purchased can be obtained from only one source and requires notification to and approval by the Legislature on such sole source purchases exceeding $25,000.00; and,

WHEREAS, the Director of Finance and Purchasing recommends a contract with Tyler Technologies of Lubbock, TX, for the furnishing of computer software and software maintenance for use by the new County Municipal Court; and,

WHEREAS, the Director of Finance and Purchasing has determined that the software and services to be purchased can only be obtained from one source, as Tyler Technologies is already used by many local courts, creating a network of local help, and the vendor routinely provides local training, resulting in savings on training and travel costs; now therefore,

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Director of Finance and Purchasing be, and hereby is, authorized to execute for the County a contract with Tyler Technologies for the purchase of software and maintenance for use by the County Municipal Court; and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing by, and hereby is, authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract.
